Inexpensive dinosaur treasure hunt Clues for older kids to enjoy at home (with answers)

28.06.22 | Janice | No Comments

This dinosaur treasure hunt is an inexpensive way for kids to enjoy a dino-themed activity at home on a rainy day.

You may be familiar with a dinosaur scavenger hunt where kids have to find specific things or study a treasure map of the backyard. However, as the kids get older, the hunts are completed in next to no time. Older kids need a game more suited to their skill set. This treasure hunt is the perfect way to do that.

Instead of having to make your own scavenger hunt or treasure hunt (which would take ages), you can get this ready-made treasure hunt to use at home.

Dinosaur Treasure Hunt Puzzles

This dinosaur treasure hunt takes about an hour to complete because instead of finding specific objects, the kids have to solve various dinosaur-themed puzzles to reveal the location of the next clue. The puzzles are all themed and illustrated with a large collection of things all dino related. The puzzles sneakily incorporate Math and English skills so the kids are also learning in an enjoyable way!

easy to set up

If this is the first time you have sent up a printable treasure hunt then the good news is that it is very simple.

You receive a PDF file as an instant download to your email addres. You print the clues at home on US letter paper (UK:A4 paper).

There are 10 clues as well as ‘cheat sheets’ with the answers in case you get stuck. There are also full instructions on how to set up the hunt which takes about 10 minutes. It’s easy to play if you have more than one kid as you just print off a set of clues for each kid who wants to play.

The duration of the game is between 30 and 60 minutes.

To make it more fun you could even hide small toy dinosaurs with each clue or get the kids to dress up in safari-style clothes to hunt out the dinos.
