Equipment

  • 1 Food processor or other way to crush the Oreos
  • 1 Small microwaveable bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • 1.5Tbs Cookie scooper spoon

Ingredients

  • 24 Oreo's
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
  • 12 oz chocolate almond bark or chocolate chips
  • 3 Airhead extreme strips (cut about 2" lengths) or bite-size candies
  • 1/4 cup Gold confetti sprinkles or green sprinkles

Instructions

  • Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Crush Oreos until fine crumbs using a food processor or other preferred method.
  • In a medium bowl, combine crushed Oreos, and softened cream cheese until fully incorporated.
  • Scoop Oreo mix into 1 1/2 tbs balls and chill for about 30 minutes.
  • Using a toothpick and your fingers, try to shape the balls into pots. Press in the toothpick around the top – about 1/8-1/4”. Push the top up if you can and flatten the top surface. It won’t be perfect, and that’s okay.
  • Place the almond bark into a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30-second intervals, stirring between each session until it is fully melted.
  • Drop the little Oreo pots into the chocolate, and use a spoon to make sure the truffles are fully covered in chocolate, and then lift out and onto the parchment paper.
  • Let the truffles set for about a minute, but make sure it doesn’t set all the way. Drop the confetti sprinkles onto the flat surface of the pot. If you put the sprinkles on right away, they may just slide right off.
  • Place the airhead into the chocolate and hold it in place for a few seconds to make sure it is secure. If you use the strips you can fold it back so that it doesn’t flop over.
  • Allow them to set fully. Once they are fully set, you can use a sharp knife to trim the excess chocolate off the bottoms and clean it up.

Notes

Keep the truffles refrigerated in an air-tight container until just before serving.  If the chocolate starts to get white spots, run a hairdryer over them on a low setting for a few seconds and they will disappear very quickly.
