Frankenstein Pretzel Rods
Prep: 45 minutes
Yields: 10-12 Pretzels

Ingredients
10-12 Pretzel Rods
1-1/2 c. Green candy melts, reserve about 1/8 cup for later
1 tsp- 1 Tbs. paramount crystals (optional, but ideal)
½ c. Brown candy melts or chocolate chips
Candy eyes – You can get these from Amazon
Festive sprinkles (optional)
Method:
- Cover a cookie sheet or baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
- Reserving about 1/8 cup of your green candy melts, place the rest into a microwave safe bowl. Melt the chocolate by microwaving in 20 second intervals, stirring in between each session. Remove bowl from microwave just before fully melted. Ask an adult to help with this in case the bowl is hot. Stir until smooth. If you prefer, you can melt them in a double boiler.
- Add paramount crystals and stir until dissolved. This will thin out the chocolate so that it goes farther.

- Spoon the melted green candy melts onto the whole pretzel rods leaving a small piece uncovered for holding. Place on the parchment paper to set. You can place it in the fridge for about 20-30 minutes to let it set faster.
- Once set, melt the chocolate, adding the paramount crystals as you did before.

- Place the melted chocolate into a piping bag. Cut a small hole in the tip of the bag.

- Pipe dots where the eyes go, and place the eyes on top. You may need to hold the eyes in place for a couple of seconds to make sure they stay firm.

- Pipe the hair onto the top of the pretzel. Add a wiggly mouth using the brown chocolate. Melt the remaining green candy melt and add it to a piping bag, and pipe on the stitches.
- Store in an airtight container until ready to serve. The festive Halloween treats will keep for 2-3 days at room temperature.
